AIR WORKS – Art for one day.

Stone and wood have traditionally been the principal materials of sculpture. Later metal, ceramics and glass become part of the sculptor’s arsenal. Today in the age of the expanded notion of art we find all materials and non-materials assembled in art again. But what about air?

BOREALIS, leading provider of innovative, value creating plastics solutions with more than 40 years of experience in polyolefins, has now commissioned 17 renowned Austrian artists to create sculptures for just one day – consisting of air and held in shape by a plastic membrane regarding its mission „Shaping the Future with Plastics“. These inflatables are shown during the OMV Linz Marathon 2009.

In 2011 the AIR WORKS were exhibited in MuseumsQuartier in Vienna.

Für unmittelbare Aufmerksamkeit sorgen KUNST-WERTE-Transparente auf hohem künstlerischen Niveau, die vorwiegend an den Staubfangnetzen der Baugerüste von GBG-Immobilienprojekten angebracht werden.

Courtyard Vienna Messe

The hotel Courtyard Vienna Messe, opened in May 2008, will be an important part of Vienna in the reflection fot its guests and adopts this „Vienna Feeling“ which is composed of a plurality of variable factors and atmospheres – including first and formemost art and culture but also the famous Viennese „Heuriger“ (wine taverns), Danube River or „Prater“. Courtyard Vienna Messe conveys this special „Vienna Feeling“ to its guest by the use of art.

According to a proposal and initiative by Werkstatt Kollerschlag was established contact to the artist Prof. Gunter Damisch, academy of fine arts Vienna and his students were invited to wonder about the topic „Vienna Feeling“. In collaboration 13 young artist were selected to furnish the hotel rooms and corridors with their artworks in which are reflected the wide variety of the artist’s connotations to this topic. Nearly 900 art works are produced that way, originals as well as graphic prints in very different types of implementations.

Kunst im Courtyard Wien Messe

Das im Mai 2008 eröffnete Hotel Courtyard by Marriott Wien Messe, das in der Betrachtung seiner Gäste ein wichtiger Teil der Stadt Wien sein wird, macht sich das Wiengefühl, welches sich aus einer Vielzahl von unterschiedlichsten Faktoren und Stimmungen zusammensetzt – dazu gehören vor allem Kunst und Kultur, aber auch Heuriger, Donau oder Prater – zu eigen und vermittelt den Gästen dieses spezielle Wiengefühl über Kunst.

Auf Vorschlag und Initiative der Werkstatt Kollerschlag wurde Kontakt mit dem Künstler Prof. Gunter Damisch, Akademie der bildenden Künste in Wien, aufgenommen und dessen Studenten eingeladen, sich Gedanken zu diesem Thema zu machen. Gemeinsam wurden 13 junge Künstler aus dem Umfeld von Prof. Damisch ausgewählt, die Zimmer und Gänge des Hotels mit ihren Kunstwerken auszustatten, in denen sich die breit gefächerten Assoziationen der Künstler zum Thema Wien widerspiegeln. So sind fast 900 Arbeiten entstanden, bei denen es sich sowohl um Originale als auch um Druckgrafiken in unterschiedlichen Arten der Umsetzung handelt.
